Manager/Senior Assistant Manager, Office of Patient Engagement

About the role

The Office of Patient Engagement (OPEN) at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine seeks a Manager or Senior Assistant Manager to lead advocacy and development of patient and public involvement (PPI) in health research. You will shape how PPI is communicated, understood, and integrated across researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Grow and champion PPI initiatives for health research and medical education.
• Collaborate with patient partners, researchers, clinicians, and national stakeholders to develop a Singapore‑wide PPI guidance document.
• Design and execute communication and outreach strategies for the guidance document and broader PPI activities.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of a dedicated website to disseminate PPI resources and narratives.
• Support researchers and educators in embedding meaningful patient and public involvement throughout the research lifecycle.
• Deliver training programmes for patient partners, researchers, and clinicians to build PPI capability.
• Foster partnerships with a diverse patient partner network to enhance the relevance and impact of health research.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in patient engagement, public involvement, or health research advocacy.
• Strong understanding of Singapore’s healthcare and research ecosystem.
• Proven ability to develop guidance documents, communication strategies, and stakeholder collaborations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear, persuasive messaging.
• Project management experience and ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
