Manufacturing Buyer

About the role

The Manufacturing Buyer is responsible for executing purchases of components and raw materials, ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules. You will work closely with the Global Procurement team, planners, and Quality Assurance to maintain supplier relationships and uphold quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze purchase requisitions, use forecasts and historical data, and clarify ambiguities with planners.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with suppliers to align with production orders.
• Issue purchase orders after confirming supplier capabilities, specifications, and pricing; obtain approvals for deviations.
• Assist Global Procurement in supplier price negotiations.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve delivery or quality issues and manage returns/replacements (RGA).
• Assess supplier performance and contribute to the Supplier Score Card.
• Control inventory using forecast data, safety stock adjustments, JIT restocking, and EOQ calculations.
• Negotiate supplier cancellation requests to reduce liabilities and avoid surplus stock.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and communicate them to the Procurement team.
• Follow Molex Procurement Policy and EHS protocols, and manage resource allocation during supply shortages.

Required profile

• GCE ‘A’ level, Diploma or higher.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and drive performance metrics.
• Understanding of logistics terminology and economic principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar supplier management systems.
