Payment Commercial Partnership Manager

About the role

Axi is seeking a seasoned Payment Commercial Partnership Manager to build and manage strategic relationships with payment service providers, acquiring banks and alternative payment providers across APAC and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain partnerships with PSPs, acquiring banks, payment gateways and alternative providers, focusing on Asia and the Middle East.
• Source new payment solutions, conduct due diligence, negotiate contracts and coordinate cross‑functional teams to launch live services.
• Manage commercial terms, negotiate processing rates, settlement terms, reserves and limits, and drive cost optimisation.
• Monitor partner performance on approval rates, reliability, cost and settlement speed, and take corrective action when needed.
• Expand local payment coverage across cards, bank transfers, wallets and alternative methods, ensuring redundancy.

Required profile

• 8+ years of relevant experience in financial services, fintech or a comparable global environment.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation and external relationship management.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cross‑functional teams.
• Self‑driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership and ability to manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Detailed payments knowledge, including pricing, routing, approval rates, fraud, chargebacks and settlement optimisation.
• Contract negotiation expertise applied in a commercial setting.
