PCA Engineer

About the role

HP is hiring a PCA Engineer in Singapore to design engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry and algorithms. The engineer applies subject matter knowledge, develops and executes test plans and creates validation plans for multiple parameters, exercises independent technical judgment and leads a project team of electrical hardware engineers toward reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions for moderately complex products.

Key responsibilities

• Design engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry and algorithms based on established engineering principles.
• Develop and implement parameters and test plans for new and existing designs to debug defective hardware, electronic units, sub-assemblies and process steps.
• Create validation plans for tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation and system power measurements, and publish test results.
• Collaborate with management, internal and outsourced development partners on design status, project progress and issue resolution.
• Lead a project team and represent the electrical hardware team on larger, more complex development projects.
• Solve complex problems independently, deliver professionally written reports and mentor less experienced staff.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience and demonstrated competence.
• Minimum 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in electrical design, tools, software packages, electronic hardware architecture or a related field; an advanced degree with 3-5 years of experience is also acceptable.
• Ability to lead a team and respond to moderately complex issues within established guidelines.

Required skills

• C++ and Python programming
• FPGA and hardware design, including schematic capture and simulations
• Oscilloscope use and debugging
• Knowledge of electrical and computer engineering, electronics and systems design
