About the role
kbr is hiring a Piping Material Engineer in Singapore. The engineer develops piping material specifications and supports the project through concept, pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, commissioning and start-up.
Key responsibilities
- Develop piping material specifications
- Perform pipe wall thickness calculations, piping stress computer analysis, flange leak calculations and piping material take-offs
- Review equipment and piping layouts and piping support design
- Review bulk, valve and specialty item MTO/RFQ/TBE/POs and approve supplier documents and drawings
- Provide technical support on piping materials and engineering throughout the project lifecycle
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with exposure to piping stress checks and support design
- At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience in a consultancy environment
- Good experience in piping material engineering for offshore platforms, FPSOs and similar projects
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated learner with advanced computer skills
