Planning and Control Planner

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Planning and Control Planner to manage production, inventory, and material resources planning (MRP) for its semiconductor manufacturing operations in Singapore. The role ensures timely material availability, maintains SAP production schedules, and supports engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain SAP Production Order release schedule to provide material on‑time to manufacturing and engineering.
• Reschedule or close work orders (TECO) as required and perform pre‑shortage analysis to increase component availability.
• Conduct work order variance analysis and review MRP execution for accuracy, reconciling supply and demand.
• Validate master scheduling, manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and prepare status reports for ECOs and ECRs.
• Participate in floor audits with Finance, resolve WIP issues, and attend production meetings to report material shortage dates.
• Adjust lead times based on shop‑floor reality and collaborate with engineers on special projects.
• Analyze usage data, order parts to meet service levels, maintain inventory levels, and forecast spare‑part needs.
• Resolve material variances, support new inventory system setups, and manage obsolete inventory.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis and corrective actions from PCI reporting and drive cycle counting.

Required profile

• Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in planning and production control disciplines.
• Understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to daily tasks.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members without formal supervisory responsibilities.
• Solves routine problems using technical experience and judgment.
