Planning and Control Planner

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Planning and Control Planner to manage production, inventory, and material resources planning (MRP) activities. The role supports manufacturing and engineering teams by ensuring timely material availability and maintaining system accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain SAP Production Order release schedule and reschedule or TECO work orders as needed.
• Perform pre‑shortage analysis to increase component availability at release.
• Conduct work order variance analysis and review MRP execution for accuracy.
• Validate master scheduling, manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and prepare status reports.
• Participate in floor audits, resolve WIP issues, and attend production meetings.
• Adjust lead times based on shop floor reality and support special engineering projects.
• Analyze usage data, manage inventory levels, forecast spare parts, and handle obsolete inventory.
• Identify root causes from PCI reporting, drive cycle counting, and support corrective actions.

• Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in planning and control disciplines.
• Understands key business drivers and applies them to daily tasks.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members.
• Solves straightforward problems using technical experience and judgment.
• Impacts quality of own work and that of the team within established guidelines.
• Communicates complex information clearly in simple situations.
