Product Engineer

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Product Engineer to manage products throughout their lifecycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) through volume production and sustaining engineering. The role focuses on product performance, yield improvement, quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost optimization, working closely with Design, Process, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Customer teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product activities from development, qualification and NPI through high-volume manufacturing, drive ramp-up and monitor product health, quality and production metrics
• Analyze production data to find yield loss mechanisms, lead root cause investigations and implement CAPA
• Drive yield improvement, defect reduction, cycle time reduction and cost optimization, using statistical and analytical tools
• Work with Design, Process, Manufacturing, Test, Quality and Supply Chain teams, support customer technical inquiries and take part in design reviews
• Lead cross-functional projects to improve product robustness and production efficiency

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Photonics / Optical Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering or a related discipline
• 3-10 years of experience in Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or similar roles
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing and photonics, optical communications, semiconductor or advanced manufacturing is preferred

Required skills

• Product lifecycle management (NPI to sustaining)
• Yield analysis, root cause analysis, SPC, FMEA, DOE, 8D, CAPA, reliability and qualification methods
• Data analytics with Excel, JMP, Minitab, SQL, Python or MATLAB
• Knowledge of optical parameters such as insertion loss, return loss, PDL, extinction ratio and wavelength performance is a plus
