Production Project Technician

About the role

The Production Project Technician is responsible for administering the Permit to Work (PTW) system for brownfield projects, ensuring permits are current, correctly endorsed, and free of conflicts with terminal operations. The role supports both production and project teams from planning through hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer all brownfield permits, including suspended permits.
• Conduct weekly audits of the PTW system and report issues to the Production Manager.
• Ensure risk assessments are in place for all permits and that signatures, signs, tags and locks are correctly applied.
• Attend work‑planning, PTW scheduling and risk‑assessment meetings with the Terminal Project Development (TPD) team.
• Perform routine site tours to monitor PTW application and record lessons learned.
• Report accidents, incidents, unsafe acts and conditions promptly.
• Support digital and LEAN project implementations within Production.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in process industries or terminal operations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with all organisational levels.
• Experience with commissioning activities.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as project schedules demand.
• Relevant technical education (NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent).
