Materials, Cost & Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Materials, Cost & Logistics Specialist governs maintenance materials, cost efficiency and logistics systems for a large industrial plant. Acting as a bridge between engineering, planning and procurement, the role ensures that material, logistics and commercial aspects of maintenance and improvement projects are aligned and cost‑effective.

Key responsibilities

• Perform lifecycle cost analysis and support repair‑vs‑replace economic evaluations.
• Track, analyse and benchmark maintenance and turnaround costs, identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Implement spare‑parts strategy, drive inventory optimisation, standardisation and rationalisation.
• Manage obsolescence, phase‑out and replacement alignment.
• Maintain and improve materials master data and governance in SAP.
• Ensure material completeness and readiness for turnarounds, coordinating long‑lead items and vendor deliveries.
• Support reliability engineers in developing RFQ packages, translating technical scope into commercial documents.
• Conduct technical‑commercial evaluations, including lifecycle cost comparison, spare‑parts compatibility and vendor capability assessment.
• Provide structured analysis for final vendor selection and support vendor performance evaluation.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Supply Chain or related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement, materials management or plant support within industrial/petrochemical environments.
• Proven experience supporting maintenance, turnaround activities and spare‑parts management.
• Strong practical understanding of plant maintenance workflow, materials systems and vendor ecosystems.
• Ability to integrate technical, commercial and operational considerations.
