Production Supervisor - Machine Support Group

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Production Supervisor who directs the activities of the Machine Support group. The role is responsible for maintaining production schedules and ensuring that quality standards are met by the group.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, interview and hire Process Engineers, Industrial Techs, WAVE Techs and Machine Support Techs, and coach staff in the hiring process
• Monitor team turnover, identify areas for improvement and make changes
• Identify individual and team strengths and needs, create and validate training curricula, and mentor tooling department staff
• Create and manage succession plans for the machine shop function
• Set measurable goals and objectives, collect feedback from managers and peers, coach team members and perform evaluations on time
• Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently
• Oversee the maintenance management program, including repair parts, preventative maintenance, feeder and support equipment maintenance
• Plan technical staff activities, develop and maintain department reports and records, and supervise line moves and builds
• Schedule equipment vendors for installation, repair and updates, and ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient
• Improve processes, establish new measurement systems where possible, and follow safety, health and security policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, plus three years of experience in maintenance management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of engineering disciplines including chemistry, mechanical, electrical and industrial as they relate to surface mount and final assembly

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Surface Mount Technologies (SMT) and Thru-hole equipment
• Process optimization, Statistical Process Control, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Test, Demand Flow Technology (line balancing) and Design of Experiments
