Production Technician – Polishing Specialist

About the role

The Singapore Mint is seeking a detail‑oriented Production Technician to perform polishing, buffing and surface finishing on coins, medals and related collectibles. This position offers structured on‑the‑job training and potential progression into specialist functions such as engraving and colouring.

Key responsibilities

• Polish, buff and finish the surfaces of coins, medals and medallions.
• Conduct visual inspections to verify quality and finishing standards.
• Identify and report any surface imperfections, scratches or defects.
• Handle products carefully throughout the polishing process to preserve quality.
• Follow established production procedures, work instructions and quality requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping of workstations, tools and equipment.
• Support daily production activities to meet operational and delivery schedules.
• Adhere to workplace safety requirements and company policies.
• Assist with additional production duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Backgrounds in precision engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, jewelry design, product design, industrial design, fine arts, metalwork or related fields.
• Fresh graduates with relevant training, project work, internships or hands‑on experience are welcome.
• Good hand‑eye coordination, meticulous attention to detail and a quality‑conscious mindset.
• Willingness to learn specialised minting techniques and work both independently and as part of a team.
