Programme Assistant – Special Student Care Centre

About the role

The Programme Assistant will provide holistic care and support to children with special needs aged 7 to 18 years at AWWA's Special Student Care Centre. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the physical, emotional and developmental well‑being of each client.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individual Care Plans (ICP) and daily living activities for each client.
• Monitor and record progress, attendance, health metrics and complete monthly case notes.
• Communicate regularly with parents about progress, enrichment activities and operational matters.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate enrichment programmes tailored to each client’s needs.
• Assist and supervise clients during napping, meals, personal hygiene and other adaptive daily living tasks.
• Apply appropriate behavioural intervention techniques to manage client behaviour.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, incident reports and other documentation.
• Support the Centre Manager and supervise new assistants, interns and relief staff.
• Lead a committee, coordinate activities, assign roles and produce regular reports.

Required profile

• GCE O Levels or NITEC in Nursing/Community Service.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with persons with disabilities.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Team player with a positive, proactive mindset.
• Adaptable and able to respond quickly to operational changes.
