R&D Electrical Hardware Engineer

About the role

HP is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead with deep expertise in printed circuit board (PCB) design and system-level electrical quality. The role supports NPI programs, drives design excellence and product robustness, leads cross-functional engineering efforts and integrates new technologies into projects. It suits someone who combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership and clear communication.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary EE technical lead for PCB design and system-level integration in support of NPI programs.
• Lead design reviews, technical risk assessments and key engineering decisions throughout the lifecycle.
• Drive end-to-end PCB design, including schematic and layout review and validation.
• Define and enforce EE best practices, design guidelines and quality standards.
• Ensure SI/PI, EMC/EMI and thermal considerations are properly addressed in designs.
• Own system-level quality and reliability, including DfX, failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve product quality and reduce cost of delivery.
• Manage technical risks, resolve issues and balance cost, schedule and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, firmware, operations, suppliers).

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Track record of delivering at least 2 NPI products from concept to production.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a project lead or equivalent technical leadership role.
• Minimum 3-5 years of EE PCB design experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication, stakeholder management and the ability to influence cross-functional and global teams.

• Oscilloscope use and simulations.
• C++ or Python preferred.
