Research Associate – Horticulture & Plant Physiology

About the role
The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at NTU Singapore, in partnership with Wageningen University & Research, is seeking a Research Associate to advance the Singapore Indoor Farming System (SingFarm). The role focuses on investigating how temperature, humidity and light affect crop growth, yield and quality within controlled environment agriculture.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and maintain plant growth chambers for experimental trials.
- Design, execute and monitor experiments assessing physiological responses to environmental variables.
- Collect, process and analyse experimental data for the designated work package.
- Prepare scientific manuscripts and present findings at international conferences.
- Collaborate and communicate with multidisciplinary team members across related work packages.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in plant science, biology, agronomy or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Solid understanding of plant physiology and developmental biology.
- Interest in quantitative approaches and crop modelling.
- Effective presentation skills.
