Research Engineer I (Engineering and Materials Science)

About the role

The NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory, a collaboration between Nanofilm Technologies International Limited (NTI), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and supported by Singapore under RIE2025, is looking for a Research Engineer to oversee equipment operations, processes and maintenance so that the laboratory runs safely and efficiently. The role also involves coordinating equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and leading a team toward successful research and development outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee research equipment operations and ensure the safety and efficiency of research activities in the corporate laboratory.
• Uphold all relevant university health and safety regulations within the laboratory.
• Run equipment processes and maintain equipment to keep it in optimal condition.
• Coordinate equipment scheduling, delivery and maintenance together with researchers and project principal investigators.
• Lead and train laboratory research staff and students in a collaborative environment.
• Stay up to date on technological advancements and implement quality controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific, engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as an Equipment Engineer, Process Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on equipment management.
• In-depth understanding of research laboratory equipment, its operations and principles.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to maintain strong working relationships.

Nanotechnology and thin-film technology knowledge is highly sought after. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified; the hiring institution is NTU.
