About the role
The School of Materials Science and Engineering at NTU seeks a motivated Research Fellow to lead AI for Science (AI4S) initiatives. You will develop large‑language‑model‑based software to accelerate process engineering and materials discovery, mentor graduate students, and contribute to grant proposals and publications.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the research team to deliver project milestones on time.
- Design and implement LLM‑driven AI tools for process engineering and materials simulation.
- Mentor students in AI4S research activities.
- Prepare high‑quality reports and documentation summarising research outcomes.
Required profile
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Process Engineering or a related field with a focus on LLMs.
- Minimum of one year experience in AI for Science projects.
- Experience with international collaborations is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; publication record in both computer science and materials science is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
- Advanced Python programming.
- Experience using PyTorch for deep‑learning model development.
