Research Fellow – Environmental Change, Health & Social Resilience

About the role

The Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Health at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow to investigate how climate change, air pollution and extreme environmental conditions influence human health. The role combines environmental science, epidemiology and public health to generate evidence for resilient communities across Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Support interdisciplinary research on environmental and climate‑related change, health outcomes and social vulnerability.
• Design studies, collect and manage data, and conduct quantitative, qualitative or mixed‑methods analyses.
• Coordinate with internal and external collaborators across multiple spatial scales.
• Prepare scientific manuscripts, reports and other research outputs.
• Contribute to the development of evidence‑based public health policies and workforce protection strategies.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in geography, environmental studies, public health, environmental health, urban studies, sociology, migration studies or a related discipline.
• Research experience in environmental change, climate change and health, migration, population mobility or related interdisciplinary fields.
• Proven ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong academic writing skills and a record of scientific publications (advantageous).
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Statistical analysis using R.
• Programming and data analysis with Python.
• Experience with SPSS.
• Experience with Stata.
