Research Fellow (Geotechnics/Geophysics)

About the role

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University is looking for a Research Fellow to work on geotechnical, geological and geophysical data and modelling. The role involves curating datasets, developing 3D models of near-surface formations and creating geophysical methods for imaging subsurface structures.

Key responsibilities

• Curate and integrate available geotechnical, geological and geophysical datasets
• Develop 3D models for the characterization of near-surface geological formations
• Develop geophysical methods for imaging and characterizing subsurface structures
• Develop novel 3D modeling algorithms for near-surface characterization using curated geo-data
• Contribute to the development of intelligent geophysical imaging algorithms
• Publish high-impact research articles in leading international journals
• Assist in preparing and developing competitive research proposals
• Support the supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students

Required profile

• PhD in geotechnics, geophysics or a related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in geological modeling
• Familiarity with related literature and software
• Good written and oral communication skills
