Research Fellow – Mobile Robot Coupling & Decoupling

About the role

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at NTU seeks a Research Fellow to lead the development and demonstration of a prototype mobile‑robot coupling and decoupling platform. This role combines advanced robotics research with hands‑on prototyping in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and test a prototype platform for mobile robot coupling/decoupling.
• Provide technical problem‑solving and prototyping expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise final‑year students on related project work and ensure knowledge transfer.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to local and international multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics, Robotics, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience with cobot or related robotic technologies (preferred).
• Familiarity with control systems for cobots and robotic platforms (preferred).
• Strong hands‑on attitude, self‑learning capability, and meticulous attention to technical detail.
• Fluent English communication skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative setting.
