Research Fellow – Quantum Circuits
ntu · Singapore
Job description
About the role
We are looking for a Research Fellow to join the Nanyang Quantum Solutions team at NTU Singapore. The role focuses on designing and deploying geometrically‑motivated quantum circuits that can efficiently prepare low‑energy many‑body states on near‑term quantum hardware.
Key responsibilities
- Develop Python or Julia code to compute gate counts in Qrisp after optimization, aiming to reduce resource estimates below analytical bounds.
- Validate low‑energy state preparation for 2‑D models on commercially available quantum processors such as Quantinuum Helios and IBM Heron, and coordinate with hardware providers.
- Execute full quantum‑computing pipelines from theory to data analysis, supervising junior researchers and research assistants.
- Apply state‑preparation algorithms to FeMoCo molecules and extract physical properties from one‑body reduced density matrices.
Required profile
- PhD in mathematics, physics, computer science or a related discipline.
- At least one year of hands‑on experience with quantum circuit execution on real hardware.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to mentor peers.
- Proven ability to work independently under tight timelines with meticulous attention to detail.
Required skills
- Python programming.
- Julia programming.
- Qrisp and other standard quantum‑computing SDKs.
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (e.g., Quantinuum Helios, IBM Heron).
What we offer
- Opportunity to shape a new research group at a leading Asian university.
- Access to state‑of‑the‑art quantum hardware and collaborative experimental teams.
