Research Scientist (Semiconductor Laser Diode)

About the role

Temasek Laboratories @ NTU is looking for a Research Scientist with a research background in semiconductor laser diodes, semiconductor photonics or semiconductor materials. The staff member will take part in semiconductor laser diode-related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with research operations, including procurement of laboratory supplies, experimental setup, literature reviews, evaluation of product specifications and establishment of safe work processes.
• Lead the fabrication, characterization and analysis of laser diodes.
• Support project-related activities such as events, publications, proposal preparation, planning, monitoring and reporting as required.

Required profile

• PhD degree or Master's with at least 8 years of relevant experience in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Good writing skills for proposals, reports and publications in good academic journals.

Required skills

• Prior hands-on experience with cleanroom processes (lithography, PECVD deposition, metal deposition, rapid thermal annealing) is preferred.
• Optical mask design and optical simulation (BPM or FDTD).
• Fabrication and characterization of semiconductor laser diodes, semiconductor photonics and semiconductor materials is preferred.
