Resident Technical Officer (Building)

About the role

The Resident Technical Officer (Building) supports the Resident Engineer in overseeing construction activities on site, ensuring that all works meet statutory, client, and quality standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining safety, documentation, and timely project delivery within a dynamic construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising and inspecting on‑site construction work to ensure compliance with statutory and client requirements.
• Collaborate with C&S QP, other Resident Technical Officers, and contractors to resolve site issues and keep the project on schedule.
• Implement and sustain the site supervision quality and safety assurance system.
• Supervise structural and geotechnical works, identifying any non‑conformities in contractor activities.
• Monitor project progress, schedule, and quality standards.
• Maintain and update site records, including progress reports, safety logs, method statements, shop drawings, and as‑built submissions.
• Review method statements and drawings, ensuring they meet authority and shop drawing requirements.
• Conduct regular site checks to enforce health and safety compliance per MOM regulations.
• Inspect and monitor the quality of architectural finishing materials and supervise architectural works.

Required profile

• Recognized Civil or Structural Engineering diploma acceptable for registration with IES/ACES.
• Accredited with IES/ACES and holding a valid Resident Technical Officer Practicing Certificate.
