Security Engineer

About the role

The NETS Group, a payments services group behind Singapore's national debit scheme, is hiring a Security Engineer in Braddell. The engineer helps design, implement and maintain security tools that form a layered defence against cyber threats, working closely with security operations, IT and risk teams to deploy and optimise tools, develop policies and improve detection and response.

Key responsibilities

• Run periodic health checks on deployed security tools and coordinate with internal teams and vendors to fix issues.
• Monitor and manage service request and incident tickets within SLA timelines, and handle the shared security mailbox.
• Provide Level 1 support for SIEM, XDR, vulnerability management, DLP, PAM, IAM, WAF and IDS/IPS.
• Help write operational documentation and Knowledge Operating Procedures (KOPs).
• Generate reports from security tools using Shell or Python.
• Track security tool inventory, EOL and EOSL status and coordinate remediation.
• Support BAU changes through ITSM processes (change, incident, problem management).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information security or a related field.
• 1+ year of hands-on experience managing or supporting security technologies.
• At least 1 year of experience with native cloud security services of AWS, Azure, OCI or GCP.
• Ability to troubleshoot moderately complex issues and work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of information security fundamentals, networking and Unix/Linux.
• Shell scripting; Python is a strong advantage.
• Relevant vendor or cloud security certifications.
