Security Manager – Insurance Technology

About the role

A temporary Security Manager position in the technology department of an insurance organisation in Singapore. You will oversee and strengthen the company's security strategies and operations, protecting its assets and data. The role is advertised through Michael Page.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement security protocols, policies and procedures within the technology department.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents to protect systems and data.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
• Maintain and update security systems, and provide guidance on security best practices to stakeholders.
• Oversee third-party security assessments and manage vendor relationships.
• Deliver regular reports on security performance and incidents to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in Information Security, Audit or Risk Management, with significant exposure to financial services or similarly regulated industries.
• Relevant qualifications in cybersecurity, information technology or a related field.
• Experience with security tools and technologies, including monitoring and response systems.
• Proven ability to manage incidents and implement effective security solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Information security controls: authentication/authorization, access controls, entitlement, cryptography, encryption, network, application/system security and key management.
• Vulnerability management frameworks (OWASP, SANS).
• SDLC, Agile/Iterative, DevOps/DevSecOps and their integration with security assessments.
• Singapore regulatory framework (MAS TRM, PDPC PDPA) and global standards (ISO-27001, NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS or cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) are mandatory.
