Senior Engineer/Analyst - NDD (2)

About the role

This role sits within a team building technical capabilities for high-level feasibility assessments and research of infrastructure requirements for advanced nuclear energy systems. You will research technical requirements and physical constraints of emerging nuclear technologies, align them with international guidelines such as those of the IAEA, and contribute to national land-use efficiency studies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical frameworks for site suitability and resilience, including geological, geophysical, geotechnical and seismological research, and help build analytical models for external natural and human-induced hazards.
• Research radiological, biodiversity and environmental impact assessment methodologies to set high-level safety and ecological benchmarks.
• Apply the IAEA Milestones approach to assess siting and operational implications for nuclear safety, security, safeguards and radiation protection, fuel cycle and radioactive waste management, and emergency planning.
• Study the physical requirements of integrating advanced nuclear facilities into urban environments, including cooling water systems and grid connectivity, and map land-use trade-offs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering, geosciences, urban planning, geology, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, marine biology, ecology, or another related technical field.
• Preferred: 8-10 years of relevant technical experience, site assessment of large-scale infrastructure in Singapore, EIA experience, and exposure to safety-critical or high-security projects.
• Openness to being stationed overseas for 3 months to 2 years for training and attachments.

Required skills

• Geotechnical, civil and structural engineering management; site assessment of large-scale infrastructure.
• Knowledge of GIS and risk modelling, and familiarity with IAEA Safety Standards (a plus).
• Technical writing for regulatory submissions; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
