Senior Executive – Finance Department (Payroll & Claims)

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapore is seeking a Senior Executive for its Finance Department. The role focuses on payroll and claims administration, ensuring accurate and timely processing for all staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll administration, including monthly postings for full‑time and part‑time staff, statutory contributions and period‑end closing.
• Process payroll‑related payments such as education allowances, passage claims and other miscellaneous items.
• Perform finance activities including journal entries, reclassifications and general ledger postings.
• Ensure employee claims are accurate and comply with group policies.
• Support budget submission and evaluation processes.
• Prepare regular and ad‑hoc management reports and data.
• Provide payroll information for internal and external audits.
• Address employee inquiries related to payroll and claims.
• Educate staff on payroll and claim policies and maintain data confidentiality.
• Maintain service levels in line with defined SLAs and support related projects.

Required profile

• Polytechnic diploma or degree in Accountancy, Business or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience handling payroll or claims.
• Finance or accounting knowledge is an advantage.
• Organised, meticulous and service‑oriented.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Effective team player with ability to work independently.
• Strong prioritisation and multi‑tasking abilities.
