Senior Manager, Legal Counsel – Asia Manufacturing

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Manager, Legal Counsel for its Asia Manufacturing operations. The legal leader will act as the primary partner for manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, quality and technical teams across multiple Asian markets, providing day‑to‑day legal support and ensuring alignment with global strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary legal support for Asia MTO sites, including manufacturing, procurement, quality and technical functions.
• Draft, negotiate and manage regional commercial agreements such as supply, manufacturing, service and technology‑transfer contracts.
• Lead legal management of supplier performance issues, risk assessments, disputes and escalation strategies.
• Support site operational needs including leases, facilities agreements, equipment procurement and automation initiatives.
• Advise on compliance and regulatory matters (anti‑bribery, third‑party due diligence, privacy, HSE) and coordinate with external counsel.
• Manage or support litigation, investigations and regulatory inquiries affecting Asia‑based operations.

Required profile

• Law degree (JD, LLB or equivalent) with active bar admission in a major jurisdiction.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years of demonstrated leadership.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in commercial, manufacturing, supply‑chain or regulatory law within a multinational environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (estimated 10–20%).

Required skills

• Strong drafting and negotiation expertise for complex commercial and technology‑transfer agreements.
• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools and global legal template processes.
• Proven ability to manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
