Senior Pharmacist – Strategic Procurement

About the role

As a Senior Pharmacist focusing on Strategic Procurement, you will be stationed at one of Singapore’s public healthcare institutions, ensuring the continuity, quality and cost‑effectiveness of pharmaceutical supplies. You will work closely with clinical teams, inventory units and external partners to drive procurement excellence and uphold patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drug evaluation meetings with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and negotiate contracts to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Conduct strategic sourcing, horizon scanning and market landscape analysis for pharmaceuticals.
• Develop and update drug specifications in line with pharmacopoeia standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage pharmaceutical supply‑chain issues, including product defects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals to strengthen procurement strategies.
• Supervise the procurement team, conduct performance reviews and mentor junior staff.
• Assist in the development and implementation of national policies, innovative ideas and projects related to pharmaceutical procurement.
• Review and revise standard operating procedures and policies to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
