Senior Piping Material Engineer

About the role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) is looking for an experienced Senior Piping Material Engineer to support its oil and gas project. The role covers piping material engineering for offshore platforms, FPSOs and similar assets, from concept through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform piping material engineering for offshore platforms, FPSOs and similar assets
• Prepare and review piping material specifications, standards, material classes, thickness calculations, valve and specialty item specifications and data sheets
• Prepare and review bulk, valve and specialty item MTOs, RFQs, TBEs and POs, and approve supplier documents and drawings
• Provide technical support on piping materials and engineering during concept, pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, commissioning and start-up
• Attend kick-off meetings and pre-inspection meetings at vendor works, and take part in FATs for critical valves

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering with exposure to UKCS and PED requirements
• At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience in a consultancy environment
• Good experience in piping material engineering for offshore platforms and FPSOs
• Able to supervise and guide a team of Material Engineers and give technical direction on large offshore projects
• Good written and oral communication skills; self-motivated learner with advanced computer skills

Required skills

• Working knowledge of piping codes such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, DNV, NORSOK and NACE
• Piping material engineering and thickness calculations
