Senior / Principal PCB Layout Engineer

About the role

LITE-ON Singapore is seeking a Senior / Principal PCB Layout Engineer to join its Cloud Infrastructure Platform and Solutions (CIPS) Research Team. The role involves leading early‑stage research projects, collaborating with academic partners, suppliers and customers, and delivering proof‑of‑concept designs for next‑generation data‑center technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead PCB layout activities from concept and lab demos through to product‑intent designs.
• Define board stack‑up, component placement, routing and optimisation for high‑current and high‑speed applications.
• Develop design processes for high‑voltage/power boards, ensuring compliance and safety.
• Drive best practices in signal/power integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal management, DFM and DFT.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and thermal teams to integrate liquid cooling, heatsinks, busbars and connectors.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Interface with PCB fabricators and assembly partners to produce cost‑effective prototypes.
• Continuously research emerging PCBA technologies for lab demonstrations and product integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of PCB layout experience, including complex multilayer designs.
• Proven ability to lead layout reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Passion for innovation and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PCB design tools such as OrCad, PADS, Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
• Expertise in high‑current power routing, creepage & clearance, high‑voltage design, differential pair routing and controlled impedance.
• Knowledge of high‑speed interface design, EMC/EMI mitigation and thermal optimisation.
• Experience with power electronics (AC/DC, DC/DC) and controllers (FPGAs, DSPs, MCUs).
• Familiarity with power modules, GaN, SiC, liquid‑cooled electronics and HDI technologies.
