Senior Product Consultant (CAT Marine)

About the role

Caterpillar is looking for a Senior Product Consultant for CAT Marine, based in Singapore and reporting to the Senior Manager for New Product Introduction. The role works with industry partners, architects and designers to specify Caterpillar-supplied equipment into vessel designs, making sure partners know both current and future Caterpillar marine products.

Key responsibilities

• Work with internal Caterpillar and dealer teams to influence new ship design activity at shipyards, naval architects and contractors.
• Understand vessel design criteria and act as a design partner to identify and develop the right Caterpillar solution.
• Influence power systems specifications during the concept study and preliminary design phase of shipbuilding programs.
• Incorporate commercial aspects into technical decision-making.
• Develop propulsion and power generation solutions that meet the stringent requirements of new ship designs.
• Build strong long-term relationships with key decision makers.
• Collaborate with Caterpillar product development teams on new technology and performance requirements.

Required profile

Travel is up to 25% of the time, mainly regional with occasional global travel. The position requires onsite work five days a week.
