Senior Research Engineer I (Satellite System Hardware)

About the role

The School of EEE at NTU is hiring a Senior Research Engineer I (Satellite System Hardware). The engineer works on a project developing energy harvesting systems for low-power smart sensors that monitor buildings and bridges, including the integration of energy harvesters, power management circuits and monitoring sensors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop MCU/MPU/SOC platforms, analyze system requirements and generate modular specifications.
• Identify and qualify components for spacecraft operation, build, test and modify prototypes.
• Circuit validation, system operational validation, circuit characterization and embedded C coding and debugging.
• FPGA programming and designing printed circuits to meet EMC/EMI requirements.
• Guide subsystem integration, document processes and manage tasks to the project schedule.
• Support satellite mission operations, satellite testing and student activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electronic Engineering or a related field; a diploma with good industry experience may also be considered.
• Fluent verbal and written English.
• Able to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Full product life cycle knowledge preferred.

Required skills

• MCU/MPU/SOC embedded system design and programming.
• Analog and digital circuit design.
• Pcb artwork with Altium or Orcad.
• Schematic capture, circuit analysis and simulation, and design specification documentation.
• Debugging tools such as bus and spectrum analyzers.
• CAN, SPI and I2C bus protocols.
• Preferred: FPGA, analog or RF design experience.
