Senior Security Engineer

About the role

Plaud is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to build and own its Security Operations, Detection, and Response capabilities from the ground up. You will design the cyber‑defense stack, author detection logic, and ensure SOC 2 Type II audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage core security tools (SIEM, EDR, NTA) and telemetry pipelines across AWS, GCP, SaaS and endpoints.
• Author and continuously tune detection rules using the MITRE ATT&CK framework, implementing Detection‑as‑Code practices.
• Lead end‑to‑end incident response, act as Incident Commander for critical events, and develop automated SOAR playbooks to meet MTTD/MTTR SLAs.
• Integrate LLMs into daily SecOps for alert summarisation, rule generation and playbook drafting.
• Produce and maintain evidence for the SOC 2 Type II audit, owning the CC7 Monitoring & Detection domain.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on security engineering experience in SIEM, IR, SOAR, detection engineering or threat hunting.
• Proven builder mentality – able to create security infrastructure from scratch without legacy runbooks.
• Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, custom log integration and incident severity mapping.
• Experience meeting strict MTTD/MTTR SLAs and familiarity with SOC 2 Type II control requirements.
