Senior Sourcing Manager - Purchasing

About the role

This role leads supplier strategy, supports new product introduction and manages day-to-day sourcing operations at the GE Vernova Service Singapore shop, with additional global responsibility for fulfillment and ERP improvement. It reports directly to the Global Repair Sourcing Leader and is central to the repair shop's operation and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Safety: lead supplier qualification so that all vendors working on site are qualified on safety
• Quality: work with the quality team and SQEs to resolve supplier quality issues and drive recovery plans
• Fulfillment: manage and improve supply base performance, oversee the red/yellow flag process and partner with material and production teams to prevent and solve production material issues
• Leadtime reduction: implement material planning strategies, use stocking agreements and advance orders, and drive supplier leadtime improvement through Kaizen and other tools
• Cost reduction: define and run savings projects with the shop and engineering teams, and develop alternative suppliers and materials
• Payment terms: negotiate payment terms with vendors to protect cash position and resolve AP issues so suppliers are paid on time
• Strategy: lead the plan to turn the sourcing team and supplier base into a high-quality, best-cost, best-leadtime supply chain leveraging the Repair Network and Gas Power
• Team development: train and coach sourcing and buyers on policies and procedures
• Problem solving and continuous improvement: handle complex supplier situations and drive sourcing improvements using Lean and daily management tools
• Global scope: lead the assigned global repair sourcing scope for fulfillment and ERP improvement

Required profile

• Advanced experience in sourcing and buying procurement, with at least 10 years of sourcing experience
• Demonstrated cross-cultural people and team leadership
• Understanding of end-to-end supply chain considerations and continuous improvement methods
• Experience creating and working with negotiated agreements, managing teams and working in a manufacturing environment
• Desired: strong communication and project management skills with regular executive-level interaction on sourcing, and experience in gas turbine repair or aviation-related MRO business
