Senior Staff Nurse – Diagnostic Radiology

About the role

The Senior Staff Nurse in Diagnostic Radiology provides high‑quality nursing care to patients undergoing a wide range of diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures. You will work closely with radiologists and the imaging team to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high standard of nursing care within the Diagnostic Radiology department.
• Support a variety of diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures.
• Perform clinical nursing procedures and monitor patients before, during, and after imaging.
• Provide patients with clear pre‑ and post‑procedural education.
• Assist radiologists during specialised diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout all procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
• State‑registered nurse.
• Strong interest in procedural, acute, and diagnostic care settings.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, high‑dependency clinical environment.
• Willingness to perform on‑call duties, including after‑hours and weekends.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and patient‑focused.
• Commitment to safety, quality care, infection control, and professional nursing excellence.
• Adaptable and resilient in high‑pressure situations.
• Relevant experience in Operating Theatre, Endoscopy, Intensive Care, Interventional or Diagnostic Radiology is a plus.
