Senior/EHS Engineer

About the role

GSK is looking for a Senior/EHS Engineer for a contract role ending on 30 December 2028. The post oversees the site's security, safety, health and environmental (EHS) programmes to ensure compliance with legislation and GSK EHS standards, drives continuous improvement and a strong EHS culture, and provides technical guidance, training and support to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the site's EHS management system, including risk management and risk assessments, and contribute to EHS strategies, plans, policies and procedures.
• Support implementation of GSK life-saving rules, safe systems of work and behavioural safety programmes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate EHS standards, engineering standards and local statutory requirements, and update procedures when requirements change.
• Enforce EHS requirements and procedures for all staff and contractors on site.
• Create and deliver EHS training packages and identify training needs using in-house or external providers.
• Develop and support self-inspection and Gemba monitoring, run regular independent EHS audits, coordinate findings and lead the site EHS committee's inspection teams.
• Report accidents and incidents, investigate them with the relevant departments and ensure recommendations prevent recurrence.
• Promote safety culture through awareness campaigns and support the EHS Lead and other EHS team members.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in EHS, industrial hygiene, engineering or a science-related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical, chemical or other high-risk manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to give sound, practical EHS advice to the business and make reliable decisions.
