Senior/Executive Engineer, Instrumentation, Control & Automation

About the role

The Public Utilities Board is hiring an Engineer, Executive Engineer or Senior Engineer in Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) at the Changi Water Reclamation Plant. You will help treat used water into high-quality NEWater and ensure safe discharge to the sea, working with a team of engineers and contractors to run maintenance strategies that keep critical water treatment equipment safe and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment and auxiliary systems in the used water treatment process, together with engineers and contractors
• Assist the supervisor in devising the maintenance plan and budget, procuring spares, monitoring spare inventory and expenditure use
• Respond to equipment abnormalities and follow standard operating procedures when needed
• Use enterprise systems such as the Asset Management System for procurement, contract management, asset and inventory management
• Support the integration of instrumentation data with SCADA, data historians and analytics platforms
• Take part in continuous improvement initiatives for safety, efficiency and equipment reliability
• Manage and implement maintenance contracts so contractor work meets objectives and stays within budget

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Able to work independently and a good team player
• Able to respond to urgent situations outside normal working hours
• Comfortable working in a used water environment and physically able to perform site works

Required skills

• Familiarity with field instrumentation and its applications in used water treatment processes
• Experience with SCADA and data historian systems
