Senior/Staff Test Engineer

About the role

Silicon Labs' Test Engineering team designs and develops test solutions for its wireless SoC and module products used in IoT applications. It works with product, design and manufacturing teams to build automated test programs, characterise performance across process corners and deploy scalable test solutions at global OSAT partners. The role covers production test solutions for RF/analog/mixed-signal SoCs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production test solutions for RF/analog/mixed-signal SoCs on in-house and commercial ATE platforms
• Collaborate with design teams to prepare comprehensive test plans for new IP blocks, aligned with functional requirements and reliability expectations
• Design test hardware (load boards, probe cards) for manufacturing environments
• Drive test program development, optimisation and release to production for NPI products
• Lead first silicon bring-up and characterisation of new silicon with Design and Product Engineering
• Improve test time, yield and coverage through data-driven root cause analysis
• Support volume ramp and test correlation across sites and packages
• Mentor junior engineers and drive process and methodology improvements

Required profile

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of ATE development experience
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor test flows (wafer sort, final test, SLT)
• Experience designing test hardware circuits and PCB layout with tools such as Altium
• Demonstrated ability to debug test hardware and software
• Plus: experience in wireless SoCs (BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Matter), DFT, boundary scan and BIST, and semiconductor process flow understanding

Required skills

• Embedded test firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller products
• ATE platforms such as Teradyne UltraFlex, J750 or equivalent
• C++ and Python
• RF, analog and/or mixed-signal measurements
• Plus: test data analysis tools, SQL, Python, R, SiliconDash, test automation frameworks and Git
