Smart Systems Engineer

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Smart Systems Engineer to work in its semiconductor manufacturing environment across High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), Component Assembly and Test, and SSD operations. Working with a multi-functional team, the engineer provides system solutions that improve operational productivity, efficiency and product quality while driving cost reduction. The role covers problem analysis, system development and building, vendor management, production testing, know-how training and commissioning, and defines and supports software throughout its lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide solutions, including internal and third-party vendor applications, to lower manufacturing cost and cycle time while improving yield and quality
• Explore new systems such as AI-powered analytics and automation tools to improve efficiency
• Analyse application performance and user experience, then build user interfaces that are easy to access and intuitive
• Develop and maintain software applications using approved languages, databases and standard tools
• Keep up with AI technologies and introduce measures to improve existing systems
• Lead projects, coordinate with business users and IT, and manage the health of databases, including backup and recovery
• Act as system lead for assigned enterprise applications, ensuring availability and performance
• Mentor peers, develop training materials and share AI-enabled improvements

Required profile

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Computing, or equivalent experience
• Good understanding of software development methodologies and the full software development life cycle
• Familiarity with collaborative tools such as GIT
• Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills, effective communication and a growth mindset
• Leadership experience and a track record of impact are highly desirable; internship or semiconductor industry experience is a plus

• Advantage: familiarity with AI tools such as M365 Copilot and AI agent creation
