SMT Manufacturing/Process Engineer I

About the role

Jabil is looking for an SMT Manufacturing/Process Engineer I to monitor the quality and efficiency of assigned manufacturing lines and drive continuous improvement through process development, root cause analysis and systematic problem solving, using data from CIQ, TARS and other sources.

Key responsibilities

• Balance and optimise line throughput, including minimising changeover downtime (common set-ups)
• Monitor machine management data to maximise utilisation and minimise machine-generated scrap
• Provide input on cost reduction by streamlining processes and systems
• Create and maintain wave and reflow soldering profiles, keeping process parameters within tolerances so solder quality meets IPC-610B or other applicable standards
• Design and/or procure production tooling such as stencils, vacuum plates, wave solder pallets and product-specific fixtures and jigs
• Coordinate line reconfigurations and machine moves, including equipment arrival, positioning, installation and scheduling of support groups
• Verify that machine maintenance is performed as scheduled on assigned lines
• Promote open communication within the M.E. department and with support groups, and comply with safety, health and security policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred, with one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in SMT process/manufacturing engineering preferred
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 regulatory requirements and FDA inspection is an added bonus
