SSD Customer Validation Engineer

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring an SSD Customer Validation Engineer in its Solid State Drives (SSD) group. You will develop and maintain the test automation infrastructure that validates Enterprise Storage System interoperability for SSDs using NAND Flash memory products, ensuring products ship to customers without issues. The role involves characterizing test environments and writing scripts that interface with cutting-edge SSD products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement cross-platform APIs for Enterprise SSD validation and characterization.
• Develop and integrate the APIs of new test equipment and tools for test automation.
• Define, plan and execute a test automation strategy and contribute to in-house automation frameworks and tools.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement robust test designs based on new features or customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot SSD and software integration issues, using systematic approaches to reproduce and root cause problems.
• Refine validation approaches to increase coverage and move failure detection earlier, from customer to internal test framework.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve test scalability and efficiency.
• Maintain documentation of test methodologies, workflows and results for traceability.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with object-oriented programming concepts; Python required.
• Ability to communicate complex design patterns through UML documentation.
• Agile product development and project management experience.
• Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation and teamwork skills across sites and time zones, and flexibility in a fast-changing environment.

Required skills

• Python
• Windows or Linux stack, kernel and driver experience highly desired
• Hands-on experience with OS APIs such as process control, memory management and device drivers beneficial
• Knowledge of system storage, CPU, memory, PCIe, drivers, OS and firmware is a plus
• Problem diagnosis and root cause analysis
