Technician / Technical Lead

About the role

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a Technician / Technical Lead to join its operations team in Singapore. The role involves hands‑on work with optical components and coating equipment, supporting production and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform lapping, polishing, washing, and inspection of optical components according to SOPs and quality requirements.
• Operate coating equipment, conduct basic troubleshooting, and ensure process compliance.
• Carry out in‑process quality checks, maintain production records, and monitor coating processes.
• Support productivity, yield improvement, and continuous improvement projects.
• Perform spectral measurements using appropriate templates and handle additional production tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Higher Nitec, Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience; optics polishing or thin‑film manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to read, understand and train on SOPs, work instructions, and technical drawings.
• Good interpersonal skills, flexible to work overtime and rotating or 12‑hour shift patterns.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
