Tenured Associate/Full Professor – Linguistics & Multilingual Studies

About the role

The Division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for tenured faculty appointments at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The successful candidate will join a vibrant, interdisciplinary community focused on language structure, society, cognition, and technology, with a particular emphasis on multilingualism in the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics and related areas.
• Supervise graduate research, including theses and teaching practice.
• Maintain a robust research agenda, publish in leading venues, and secure external research funding.
• Take on administrative and leadership duties within the department and university.
• Contribute to service activities such as committee work and external outreach.
• Establish collaborations with local and international scholars and practitioners.
• Mentor junior faculty and provide academic leadership.

Required profile

• PhD in Linguistics or a closely related discipline.
• Strong, internationally recognised research record of field‑leading quality.
• Demonstrated success in grant acquisition and graduate supervision.
• Evidence of academic leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Commitment to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
