Test Engineer I (Medical)

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Test Engineer I (Medical) who, under limited supervision, designs, develops and maintains test procedures, tester hardware and software for electronic circuit board production. The role covers medical and healthcare products and involves work partly in the office and partly on the manufacturing floor.

Key responsibilities

• Review circuit board designs for testability requirements and prepare testing and documentation recommendations from product design through initial production.
• Support manufacturing with failure analysis, tester debugging, reduction of intermittent failures and downtime of test equipment.
• Generate reports and analysis of test data, and prepare technical reports for test engineering and management.
• Review test equipment designs, data and RMA issues with customers regularly.
• Design, and direct engineering and technical personnel in the fabrication of testing and test control apparatus.
• Coordinate development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices needed to test, record and reduce test data.
• Determine test conditions, sequences and phases, and direct the operational, functional and performance phases of tests.
• Perform moderately complex engineering test assignments for standard and custom devices, and develop or use software and hardware to test machinery and equipment.
• Maintain semi-routine techniques according to Jabil standards, including ISO and QS development standards, and may train production testing staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering preferred, or related experience and training.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare product development and testing, with practical experience in ISO 17025 and/or FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulatory compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and regulations, write reports and correspondence, and present to managers, clients and customers.
• Ability to work with probability, statistics, geometry and trigonometry, and to reason from data.
• Frequently walks and lifts and carries PCs and test equipment up to 50 lbs; uses a computer monitor for long periods.
