Test Engineer II (Medical)

About the role

Jabil is hiring a Test Engineer II (Medical) who, under limited supervision, designs, develops and maintains test procedures, tester hardware and software for electronic circuit board production. The role also includes leading and managing a team of Process Technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit and interview Process Technicians, coach them in the hiring process and monitor team turnover
• Create and validate training curriculum, mentor technicians and set measurable goals and performance evaluations
• Review circuit board designs for testability and support manufacturing with failure analysis, tester debugging and reduction of intermittent failures and downtime
• Prepare testing and documentation recommendations from product design through initial production, and generate test data reports
• Design and direct the fabrication of test and test-control equipment, and coordinate procurement, installation and calibration of test instruments
• Determine test conditions and sequences, run moderately complex engineering test assignments and interpret test data into technical reports
• Develop or use software and hardware to test machinery and equipment, and train production testing staff in new procedures
• Follow safety, health, security and ISO/QS standards

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university
• Three to five years of experience
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA inspection and HLA/PCBA testing

Required skills

• Reading and writing technical procedures, reports and procedure manuals
• Mathematical reasoning with probability, statistics, geometry and trigonometry
• Problem definition, data collection and interpretation of technical diagrams
• Physical ability to lift and carry PC units and test equipment up to 50 lbs, with frequent walking and long periods at a computer screen
