Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Physician

About the role

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Physician will promote holistic well‑being and active ageing for seniors by integrating TCM principles with community‑based preventive health practices. The role combines clinical care, education, and outreach across two active ageing centres.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver health and wellness workshops for seniors covering lifestyle management, chronic disease prevention and TCM concepts.
• Provide food‑therapy recommendations as part of nutrition education programmes.
• Deliver pain‑management treatments, including acupuncture and other TCM modalities, for musculoskeletal and chronic conditions.
• Assess clients and refer them to Tzu Chi Foundation clinics or other appropriate services when further medical evaluation is needed.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, personalised care.
• Work with the Tzu Chi Integrated Health Team to develop individualised care plans for each senior.
• Travel between the SEEN Bukit Batok and SEEN Nanyang centres to provide clinical services, workshops and community outreach.

Required profile

• Recognised Degree or Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine with valid registration on the Singapore TCM Practitioners Board.
• Proven expertise in acupuncture and pain‑management techniques.
• Knowledge of TCM food therapy and preventive health approaches.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging seniors and working in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to travel between sites and manage schedules independently.
• Commitment to community care and promoting active ageing.
