VP/AVP Legal & Legal Counsel – Singapore (Industrial Conglomerate)

About the role

Our client, a global engineering and industrial leader headquartered in Singapore, is seeking a senior legal professional to join its legal team. The role can be filled as a VP/AVP Legal or as a Legal Counsel, providing strategic oversight across contracts, compliance, litigation and business transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the General Counsel in establishing a global legal framework and policies.
• Lead day‑to‑day legal oversight of commercial contracts, procurement agreements and business operations.
• Manage legal aspects of M&A, joint ventures, restructuring and new initiatives.
• Draft, review and negotiate procurement and commercial contracts with clients, vendors and partners.
• Oversee litigation and dispute resolution, including civil claims, commercial disputes and regulatory investigations.
• Ensure corporate governance, regulatory and licensing compliance across offshore, marine and renewables sectors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized university.
• For VP/AVP: minimum 9 years post‑qualified experience, preferably in a law firm or in‑house corporate environment.
• For Legal Counsel: minimum 3‑5 years post‑qualified experience in an established law firm.
• Proven experience in civil and commercial litigation and contract drafting.
• Experience in construction law, EPC, international trade or intellectual property is an advantage.
