Accountant / Senior Accountant – Financial Planning & Control (1‑Year Contract)

About the role

The Finance Division is looking for an experienced Accountant or Senior Accountant to join the Financial Planning & Control department on a one‑year contract. You will ensure accurate budgeting, accounting, and timely reporting for both fixed and variable cost items across the Head Office divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Process operating expenditure, review accruals and journal vouchers for accuracy and completeness.
• Approve accounts receivable and payable invoices and verify correct allocation by division.
• Monitor monthly variance analysis, compare actual spend against budgets and forecasts, and explain overruns.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual expense reports to Corporate Accounts & Projects.
• Manage suspense accounts, ensuring balances are cleared within set timelines.
• Support annual operating budget and long‑term projection exercises, assisting divisions with queries and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Conduct monthly rolling forecasts, analyse significant variances and prepare forecast materials.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors, follow up on recommendations, and participate in ad‑hoc IT system improvement projects.
• Provide guidance to staff on procedures, monitor performance and represent the department in administrative matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification recognised by ACCA.
• Strong attention to detail with solid numerical and analytical abilities.
