Aerospace Metallurgical Lab Technician (Shift)

About the role

The Aerospace Metallurgical Lab Technician supports daily production, repair development and process investigations by performing metallurgical testing and analysis in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality control testing for production, repair development and investigations (e.g., thermal spray coating microstructure evaluation, welding hardness testing, tensile strength testing).
• Maintain laboratory database to track test samples, results and ensure traceability.
• Manage storage, documentation and traceability of test coupons and evaluation records.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database for all chemicals used.
• Service, clean and maintain laboratory equipment and uphold good housekeeping.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate and prepare samples for external testing laboratories as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher NITEC in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a metallurgical laboratory with aerospace material knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and wear required PPE (respirator, safety shoes, safety glasses).
